FAQ

Will my insurance cover your services?

Coastal Spine has a team of dedicated professionals who work with our patients on the financial aspects of their care.

  • CoastalSpine accepts a variety of insurance plans.
  • We also accept Workers Compensation and motor vehicle cases.
  • No matter the insurance situation, we work with our patients on a case by case basis, in coordination with the insurance company, to ensure the maximum benefit to our patients.

Do you take workers compensation and motor vehicle cases?

Yes, we accept both workers compensation and motor vehicle cases.

How is your center different than other spine physicians?

CoastalSpine is one of the only spine centers in the northeast to combine spine-specialized orthopedists, neurosurgeons and physical medicine physicians under one roof. The physicians treat the most complex spine cases with the most advanced techniques available. Our goal is to help our patients get better without surgery. Our physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians (physiatrists) are primarily the first to treat our new patients. A treatment plan may include physical therapy, injection therapy, and medication management. Some patients do need surgical evaluations. If necessary, the physiatrists will refer you to one of our surgeons for a consultation to determine whether surgery is the right choice for you.

Which doctor should I see?

Our physicians are all part of the same dedicated team and provide excellent, state of the art spine care. You or your referring doctor may have a specific doctor in mind. If there is a delay in scheduling an appointment with a particular physician (as that doctor may be on vacation, away lecturing, or have a full schedule), you may be offered another physician in our group who can see you more quickly. We all work together to make patient specific treatment plans. Sometimes this means that it is in the patient's best interest that his/her care be transferred to another physician who has the most expertise in solving that patient's problems.

What is the difference between your Neurosurgeons and the Orthopedic Spine Surgeons?

All of our surgeons perform advanced spine surgery and are experts in minimally invasive procedures.  They have all received additional training in spine after completing their medical school residency programs.
